Witches, wizards, leading men and ladies, storm troopers, giant apes and big explosions transports us from carpools and work into another world. From state-of -the art megaplexes to small, independent art houses, Little Rock is teeming with places to check out the latest movies.

The 82,000 square feet giant has 18 screens, multiple snack bars and a game room. The newest movies hit the Rave first, and popular movies enjoy a longer run. Online ticketing is available.

The Market Street Cinema- The Corner of Merrill and Market You won't find chases and explosions at The Market Street Cinema. As small and intimate as the Rave is massive, the Market Street provides a home to independent movies that don't make it to the major theaters. The snack bar at Market Street feaures unusual offerings including bottled water and fruit juices, ice cream and cappuccino. Past films have included "Miss Potter," "Come Early Morning," and "Driving Lessons." Every Monday is BYOB (Bring Your Own Bowl) for free popcorn and all seats are $5 every Tuesday.

Wynnsong 110- Chenal Parkway West Little Rock is expanding, and the movie theater owners are finally catching up. The Wynnsong is a ten screen theater surrounded by great shopping and dining, making it the perfect spot for dinner and a movie.

Cinemark 10-McCain Blvd Just across from McCain Mall, Cinemark 10 is the biggest second run movie theater in central Arkansas. All movies are just $1. Some are already available on DVD, but many are movies that have left the first-run houses but haven't hit the home market yet. If there's a movie you missed the first time around, the Cinemark is a great place to catch it on the big screen for the last time.

Movies on the River- In the summer, movies are shown at Riverfront Park every Saturday. Shows are free and family friendly. Bring your blanket and snacks for an enjoyable movie on the banks of the Arkansas River.
